Registration Guidelines: All students must speak, read and write English. Must take a Reading Comprehension exam. Classes meet from 8:30 to 5:00 pm. daily. Entrance requirements include proof of mumps, measles, rubella, chicken pox vaccinations and a TB test (either x-ray or skin test) that is less than 6 months old. ALL SHOT RECORDS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TURNED IN WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASS. Dress code is dark blue T-shirt (unprinted) or with EMS or Fire Department name, dark pants and shoes. Each class is subject to approval of DSHS. Course approval information will be provided upon request or registration. Clinical Guidelines - EMT: Two 12 hr. hospital rotations- Three 12 hr. ambulance rotations with a minimum of 3 transports.

Clinical Guidelines - EMT/I: 60 hr hospital / 84 hr ambulance with 5 runs with student IV

*Clinicals must be completed before beginning the last week of class. The National Registry practical exams are generally given on the Saturday of the last week of class.

RN TRANSITION PROGRAM

Attend one of our monthly enrollment sessions and find out how you can qualify for an accredited RN program! Attend class only 1 time per week and depending upon your educational background you can earn your RN in 12 to 24 months. Class times are flexible and offered in Deer Park, Tyler, Beaumont, Dallas and Ft. Worth so that you can choose the most convenient site. You will receive an Associate of Science in Nursing degree from a College that is recognized nationally and accredited by the NLN! Get complete details at he monthly enrollment session of your choice. A Bachelors degree in Nursing, Business, and Criminal Justice is available in a similar format.

PROFICINECY TESTING

These are skills testing sessions designed for individuals who:
1. Have let their Certification expire and need to recertify;
2. Are 12 months past their Course Completion date and have not successfully completed the NR Computer based exam.
